The Finance Ministry exists to maximize the benefit of the Conference’s financial resources.

Meeting time:  3^rd Thursday of each  month from 7-9 pm at Highland Conference Office.

At their October 8, 2008 meeting, the Finance Ministry answered the following two questions regarding Vision:

How will the work that we do make a difference for the life of the Conference?

• We will have a true picture of the finances and the problems we face so that we can deal with them/(recommend to Conf Council how to deal with them) in a timely and creative manner.

What will be different in October 2009 because of our work?

• We will have an integrated and true picture of the Conference’s financial position
• Using the above true picture, we will have identified significant financial problems and weaknesses for the Conference
• We will have developed a 3-year financial outlook (short-term plan)
• We will have started the development of a unified approach to encouraging Planned Giving and Stewardship throughout the Conference
• We will have reviewed and recommended (to Conf Council) additional financial controls/procedures/policies, especially in the areas of check-writing, credit card usage, and layered expenditure approval authority.
• We will have reviewed and recommended how to handle funds for benevolences and missions.
• We will have initiated a stronger budget planning process.
• We will have a DuBois Center Profit & Loss Statement
• We will have produced a narrative budget for 2010 budget review
